Matching With AT

What is a matching event?

Once you have signed up for Advanced Technology you will receive an invitation for a matching day. This is a great day to see what the study is about and to meet potential fellow students. During this half day you will attend three short lectures which will give you an overview of the programme and study fields within AT. In addition, it is also possible to have an interview with the study advisor during or after this day. With these activities we hope to investigate together with you if your expectations, your background and intentions ‘match’ with the content of the curriculum. Besides the study choice, we also prepare you (and us) as well as possible for the academic year.

How does it work?

The matching day will take place 4 times a year. In 2021 the matching activities will take place on 26 March, 23 April, 11 June and 2 July. It is obligatory to join one of these matching days to be admitted to the programme. It is important that you sign up for one of these days as soon as you receive our questionnaire. Normally these activities would take place on campus, but due to the corona measures they will probably take place online. We will keep you informed about this by sending you an email with the final programme.

What is the purpose of a matching day?

We want to help you choose the right programme for you and with this event you can experience the different disciplines AT focuses on. Furthermore, it helps you to gain insight into your capacities and the expectations of the programme. The matching event is a great way to get a taste of the atmosphere and to meet the staff and students of the AT programme.

Without participating in the matching procedure, it is not possible to enrol in the educational programme. However, the advice that you are given as a result of the matching procedure is not binding. It is a recommendation about whether the programme is suited to you, but plays no role in whether you will be admitted. The Admission Office will inform you whether or not you are admissible.

Programme

There will be teaching activities related to mechanics, materials science and calculus. In the afternoon there will be an informal gathering with our staff and students of the programme. A meeting with one of our study advisors is also possible. The final programme of the matching day will be disclosed right before the chosen date.
